Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is wagered on with eight decks of cards in a dealer’s shoe. Cards valued less than ten are valued at their printed number and with 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they simply represent the two hands that are dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards are then dealt to the ‘bank’ and ‘gambler’. The score for every hand is the sum total of the cards, however the 1st number is ignored. e.g., a hand of five and six has a value of one (five plus 6 = eleven; dump the 1st ‘one’).

A additional card could be given out using the rules below:

- If the player or bank has a value of eight or nine, the two players hold.

- If the player has 5 or lower, he takes a card. Players otherwise hold.

- If the player stays, the banker hits on a value lower than five. If the gambler takes a card, a chart is used to figure out if the banker stays or takes a card.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two hands wins. Winning bets on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even money minus a five percent commission. The Rake is tracked and cleared out when you quit the game so ensure you have funds remaining before you head out). Winning bets on the gambler pays out at one to one. Winning bets for a tie typically pay 8 to 1 but on occasion nine to one. (This is a poor wager as ties occur lower than 1 in every 10 hands. Be wary of betting on a tie. However odds are astonishingly better for 9 to 1 versus 8:1)

Bet on correctly baccarat offers fairly good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Method

As with all games baccarat banque has some accepted myths. One of which is close to a absurdity in roulette. The past is not an indicator of future events. Tracking previous results on a chart is a poor use of paper and a snub to the tree that surrendered its life for our paper needs.

The most familiar and almost certainly the most successful plan is the one-three-two-six technique. This plan is deployed to pump up earnings and minimizing risk.

Start by wagering one unit. If you succeed, add another to the 2 on the table for a total of three units on the second bet. Should you succeed you will hold six on the table, take away 4 so you keep 2 on the 3rd bet. If you come away with a win on the 3rd bet, put down 2 to the 4 on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth round.

Should you don’t win on the 1st bet, you take a hit of one. A profit on the first round followed by a loss on the second causes a hit of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third provides you with a gain of 2. And success on the 1st 3 with a loss on the 4th means you balance the books. Winning all four bets leaves you with twelve, a gain of 10. This means you are able to give up the 2nd bet five times for every favorable run of 4 wagers and still are even.
