Baccarat Principles
Baccarat banque is bet on with eight decks in a dealing shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are valued at their printed value and with Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is 1. Wagers are made on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not actual people; they simply represent the two hands that are dealt).
Two cards are given to both the ‘bank’ and ‘player’. The score for every hand is the sum total of the two cards, but the first number is dropped. For example, a hand of 5 and 6 has a score of one (5 plus six equals 11; dump the 1st ‘1′).
A 3rd card could be dealt based on the following rules:
- If the player or house has a score of eight or nine, both players stay.
- If the player has five or lower, he hits. Players otherwise stay.
- If the player holds, the banker hits on 5 or less. If the player takes a card, a table is employed to determine if the bank stays or hits.
Punto Banco Odds
The greater of the two hands wins. Winning wagers on the house pay out 19:20 (even money less a 5% commission. The Rake is recorded and paid off when you leave the table so make sure you still have cash left over just before you leave). Winning wagers on the player pays one to one. Winning bets for tie normally pays eight to one but occasionally nine to one. (This is a bad wager as ties happen lower than one in every 10 rounds. Be cautious of wagering on a tie. However odds are astonishingly better for 9:1 vs. eight to one)
Wagered on properly punto banco offers relatively good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Banque Strategy
As with all games baccarat chemin de fer has quite a few accepted misconceptions. One of which is the same as a misunderstanding in roulette. The past isn’t a prophecy of events yet to happen. Tracking past results on a chart is a poor use of paper and a snub to the tree that was cut down for our stationary needs.
The most established and probably the most successful plan is the one-three-two-six technique. This method is deployed to pump up earnings and minimizing losses.
Start by wagering one chip. If you win, add another to the two on the table for a sum of three chips on the second bet. Should you succeed you will have 6 on the game table, subtract four so you have 2 on the third wager. Should you come away with a win on the third bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum total of six on the 4th bet.
Should you do not win on the initial round, you take a hit of one. A win on the 1st round followed by a hit on the second creates a hit of 2. Wins on the initial 2 with a defeat on the 3rd provides you with a gain of two. And success on the initial three with a defeat on the fourth means you are even. Succeeding at all 4 rounds leaves you with 12, a gain of ten. This means you can lose the second round 5 instances for each successful run of four wagers and still break even.
