Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards under ten are counted at their printed number while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they just act as the two hands to be played).

Two hands of 2 cards shall then be played to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for any hand will be the sum of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is dropped. For example, a hand of seven … five results in a tally of 2 (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card may be dealt depending on the following regulations:

- If the gambler or banker has a value of eight or nine, both bettors stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or less, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the bettor hits, a chart shall be used to decide if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores is the winner. Successful wagers on the banker payout 19 to twenty (even odds less a five % commission. Commission is tracked and paid out when you leave the table so make sure that you have funds left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie customarily pay 8 to 1 but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a crazy gamble as ties will happen less than 1 every 10 hands. Stay away from laying money on a tie. Regardless odds are certainly better – nine to 1 versus eight to one)

When done accurately, baccarat presents fairly good odds, apart from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with every games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. 1 of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future happenings. Staying abreast of previous results on a chart is simply a complete waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and probably most successful strategy is the one-3-two-6 scheme. This scheme is employed to amplify winnings and reducing risk.

Begin by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away 4 so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd gamble, add two to the four on the table for a value of 6 on the 4th bet.

If you lose on the first bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Accomplishing a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. This means that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
