Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards valued less than ten are counted at their printed number while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they only appear as the two hands to be played).

Two hands of 2 cards will now be given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for any hand shall be the total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is dumped. For eg, a hand of 7 as well as five gives a total of two (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A third card could be given out depending on the following codes:

- If the bettor or banker has a score of eight or nine, then both gamblers stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or less, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the player hits, a chart might be used to decide if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the 2 scores is the winner. Successful wagers on the banker pay out nineteen to 20 (even odds minus a five % commission. Commission is followed closely and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have cash remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winner bets for tie typically pay out 8 to 1 but on occasion 9 to one. (This is a bad bet as ties will happen lower than one every 10 hands. Run away from laying money on a tie. Still, odds are noticeably better – nine to one vs. 8 to 1)

Played accurately, baccarat provides relatively decent odds, apart from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games, Baccarat has some established false impressions. One of which is close to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way an indicator of future results. Keeping track of old conclusions on a chart is for sure a complete waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most commonly used and probably most successful method is the one-three-2-6 scheme. This process is used to magnify profits and reducing risk.

start by gambling one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum of 6 on the 4th gamble.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the second brings about a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Getting a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
