Punto Banco Standards
Punto banco is enjoyed with 8 decks in a shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are worth their printed value and with 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is one. Bets are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the 2 hands to be dealt).
Two cards are dealt to both the ‘bank’ and ‘gambler’. The value for every hand is the total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is ignored. For example, a hand of five and six has a score of one (5 plus 6 equals 11; drop the 1st ‘one’).
A third card might be given based on the following rules:
- If the gambler or bank gets a total of 8 or nine, the two players stay.
- If the player has less than five, she hits. Players otherwise stand.
- If the gambler stands, the bank takes a card on 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a table is used to figure out if the bank stays or hits.
Baccarat Chemin de Fer Odds
The higher of the two hands wins. Winning bets on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even money minus a 5 percent rake. The Rake is tracked and cleared out when you quit the game so ensure you still have funds left over before you quit). Winning wagers on the gambler pays 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie usually pays eight to one but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a bad wager as a tie occurs lower than one in every 10 hands. Avoid gambling on a tie. However odds are substantially greater for 9 to 1 versus 8:1)
Bet on correctly baccarat banque offers generally good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Chemin de Fer Course of Action
As with all games Baccarat has quite a few established myths. One of which is close to a myth in roulette. The past is not a fore-teller of future outcomes. Recording past outcomes on a chart is a poor use of paper and a snub to the tree that surrendered its life for our stationary needs.
The most common and likely the most accomplished course of action is the one-three-two-six tactic. This tactic is deployed to build up winnings and minimizing risk.
Start by betting one unit. If you succeed, add another to the two on the game table for a sum total of 3 dollars on the second bet. If you succeed you will now have six on the game table, pull off four so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. Should you come away with a win on the third bet, deposit 2 on the 4 on the table for a grand total of 6 on the 4th bet.
Should you lose on the first bet, you take a hit of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed by a loss on the second causes a hit of 2. Success on the first two with a defeat on the 3rd provides you with a take of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a hit on the fourth means you balance the books. Winning all 4 rounds leaves you with 12, a gain of 10. This means you can squander the second round five times for each successful run of four bets and still are even.
