Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued less than ten are said to be worth their printed number whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they simply appear as the 2 hands to be played).

2 hands of two cards will now be given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The score for any hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of seven … five results in a value of two (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A third card could be played depending on the foll. regulations:

- If the gambler or banker has a total of 8 or 9, both bettors stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the 2 scores will be the winner. Successful stakes on the banker pay at 19 to twenty (even money minus a 5 percent commission. Commission is monitored and paid out when you leave the table so make sure that you have funds remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie customarily pays 8 to 1 but on occasion nine to one. (This is a crazy wager as ties will occur less than 1 every 10 hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. However odds are far better – 9 to 1 versus eight to 1)

When done smartly, baccarat presents generally decent odds, aside from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with just about every games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. One of which is similar to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way a predictor of future happenings. Tracking of past outcomes on a chart is for sure a waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most established and probably most successful tactic is the one-three-2-six method. This method is employed to build up successes and limiting risk.

start by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract four so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum total of six on the 4th gamble.

If you don’t win on the initial wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the second causes a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. In other words you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
