Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards valued less than ten are counted at their printed number meanwhile ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they strictly portray the 2 hands to be given out).

2 hands of 2 cards will then be dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for any hand is the grand total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of 7 … five has a tally of two (7plus5=12; drop the ‘1′).

A third card could be dealt depending on the foll. regulations:

- If the bettor or banker has a tally of 8 or nine, then both bettors stand.

- If the gambler has five or lower, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart might be used to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two scores will be the winner. Successful bets on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have dollars remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie usually pays eight to 1 but occasionally nine to 1. (This is a terrible bet as ties will happen lower than one every ten hands. Avoid wagering on a tie. However odds are remarkably better – nine to one vs. eight to one)

When played correctly, baccarat presents fairly good odds, apart from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with just about every games, Baccarat has some well-known misunderstandings. One of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future happenings. Keeping track of prior outcomes on a chart is undoubtedly a total waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and probably most successful method is the one-three-2-6 technique. This method is used to pump up profits and limiting risk.

start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away 4 so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the third gamble, add 2 to the four on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th gamble.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the second will create a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Accomplishing a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Thus you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
