Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards below a value of ten are give a value of their printed value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they only portray the two hands to be given out).

Two hands of two cards will then be dealt to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for any hand is the sum total of the two cards, but the first digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of 7 and 5 produces a total score of two (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘1′).

A third card could be given depending on the foll. regulations:

- If the bettor or banker has a total of eight or 9, each players stand.

- If the player has 5 or lower, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning wagers on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even odds minus a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and moved out when you leave the table so make sure you have funds still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie generally pays out at 8 to 1 but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a bad wager as ties will happen lower than one every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try putting money on a tie. However odds are far better – nine to 1 vs. 8 to one)

When played smartly, baccarat provides fairly good odds, away from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with every games, Baccarat has some well-known misconceptions. 1 of which is close to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way an indicator of future actions. Monitoring of old outcomes on a chart is definitely a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most popular and almost certainly most successful tactic is the one-three-two-six scheme. This method is employed to accentuate profits and reducing risk.

Begin by wagering one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, remove 4 so you have two on the third bet. If you win the third gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a value of 6 on the 4th gamble.

If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Getting a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Thus you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
