Punto Banco Principles

Baccarat is wagered on with 8 decks in a shoe. Cards valued less than ten are counted at their printed number and with Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is one. Bets are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not really people; they just represent the two hands that are dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards are then dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘gambler’. The total for each hand is the total of the cards, although the 1st number is dropped. For example, a hand of five and 6 has a value of one (five plus 6 = eleven; ditch the first ‘one’).

A additional card will be dealt based on the following rules:

- If the gambler or house gets a score of eight or 9, the two players stay.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he hits. Players otherwise stay.

- If the gambler holds, the banker takes a card on a value lower than five. If the gambler hits, a guide is used to figure out if the bank holds or takes a card.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the 2 scores wins. Winning bets on the house pay out 19 to 20 (equal money less a five percent rake. Commission are kept track of and cleared out when you quit the game so make sure you still have money remaining just before you quit). Winning bets on the gambler pays one to one. Winning wagers for tie usually pays 8 to 1 but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a poor wager as a tie occurs less than 1 in every 10 rounds. Be cautious of putting money on a tie. However odds are astonishingly better for 9:1 vs. 8:1)

Baccarat Banque Method

As with all games Baccarat has a few accepted myths. One of which is close to a false impression in roulette. The past isn’t a harbinger of future outcomes. Keeping track of past results at a table is a waste of paper and an affront to the tree that gave its life for our paper desires.

The most familiar and probably the most accomplished method is the 1-3-2-6 plan. This tactic is deployed to maximize earnings and minimizing losses.
