Baccarat Procedures
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued under ten are valued at their printed value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they strictly portray the 2 hands to be given out).
Two hands of two cards shall then be dealt to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for any hand will be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of 7 and five has a total of 2 (7plus5=12; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card could be given out depending on the foll. protocols:
- If the player or banker has a value of eight or nine, the two bettors stand.
- If the bettor has 5 or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the 2 scores wins. Winning bets on the banker payout 19 to twenty (even odds less a five % commission. Commission is kept track of and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure you have money left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Baccarat Tactics
