Punto Banco Rules
Baccarat chemin de fer is wagered on with eight decks in a shoe. Cards under ten are worth face value while 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is one. Wagers are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they just represent the 2 hands that are dealt).
Two hands of two cards are then dealt to the ‘house’ and ‘gambler’. The value for each hand is the total of the cards, but the beginning digit is dropped. e.g., a hand of 5 and 6 has a value of one (five plus six equals 11; ignore the first ‘1′).
A third card may be given depending on the rules below:
- If the player or banker gets a score of eight or 9, both players hold.
- If the player has less than 5, he hits. Players otherwise stay.
- If the player stands, the house hits on a value less than five. If the gambler hits, a chart is used to figure out if the house holds or takes a card.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the two scores wins. Winning bets on the house payout nineteen to Twenty (even payout less a five percent rake. Commission are kept track of and paid off once you quit the game so make sure you still have money left over just before you head out). Winning wagers on the player pays 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie frequently pays 8 to 1 but occasionally nine to one. (This is a bad bet as ties occur lower than 1 in every 10 hands. Be cautious of betting on a tie. However odds are astonishingly better for 9:1 vs. eight to one)
Bet on properly baccarat banque provides generally good odds, aside from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with all games Baccarat has quite a few common myths. One of which is similar to a false impression in roulette. The past is not a fore-teller of future outcomes. Tracking past results on a page of paper is a waste of paper and a snub to the tree that was cut down for our paper needs.
The most accepted and probably the most acknowledged method is the one-three-two-six method. This plan is used to pump up profits and minimizing risk.
Begin by placing 1 unit. If you succeed, add another to the two on the table for a grand total of 3 units on the second bet. Should you succeed you will retain six on the game table, remove 4 so you keep 2 on the third round. If you come away with a win on the 3rd bet, put down 2 to the 4 on the game table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth bet.
If you do not win on the first round, you take a hit of 1. A win on the initial round followed by a hit on the second creates a loss of 2. Success on the first 2 with a defeat on the 3rd gives you with a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth means you are even. Succeeding at all four bets gives you with twelve, a gain of ten. This means you will be able to give up the second round five times for every successful streak of 4 rounds and in the end, balance the books.
