Baccarat Policies

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards which are valued less than ten are counted at their printed value meanwhile ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they simply act as the two hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards shall then be given out to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand is the sum of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of seven as well as 5 has a total score of 2 (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A third card may be dealt depending on the foll. standards:

- If the gambler or banker has a total score of eight or nine, each players stand.

- If the gambler has five or less, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used in order to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two scores will be the winner. Winning wagers on the banker pay at nineteen to 20 (even money minus a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so be sure to have funds remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie typically pay 8 to 1 but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is an awful wager as ties occur less than one every 10 hands. Avoid laying money on a tie. Nevertheless odds are noticeably better – nine to one vs. 8 to one)

When played smartly, baccarat presents pretty decent odds, aside from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with many games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. One of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an indicator of future outcomes. Staying abreast of previous results on a chart is simply a waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most established and feasibly most successful technique is the 1-3-2-6 method. This scheme is used to pump up payout and reducing risk.

start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third gamble, add 2 to the four on the table for a grand total of six on the fourth wager.

If you lose on the initial wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Winning all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. This means you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
