Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards than are of a value less than 10 are said to be worth their printed number whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they strictly appear as the 2 hands to be given out).

Two hands of 2 cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for every hand shall be the sum of the two cards, but the 1st digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of seven and 5 results in a value of 2 (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A third card might be played depending on the foll. protocols:

- If the player or banker has a tally of 8 or nine, then both bettors stand.

- If the player has 5 or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two scores will be the winner. Victorious bets on the banker pay at 19 to twenty (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is monitored and moved out when you leave the table so make sure that you have $$$$$ left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winning bets for tie normally pays eight to one but on occasion nine to one. (This is not a good gamble as ties will happen lower than 1 every 10 hands. Run away from wagering on a tie. Still, odds are richly better – 9 to one vs. 8 to one)

When played correctly, baccarat provides relatively decent odds, away from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. One of which is very similar to a roulette misconception. The past is not an actual indicator of future results. Keeping track of historic results on a chart is definitely a complete waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most popular and probably most successful tactic is the one-3-two-6 method. This method is deployed to amplify winnings and reducing risk.

start by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away 4 so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the 3rd gamble, add 2 to the four on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth gamble.

If you lose on the first wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. A win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Thus that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
